Beyond Earth's green canvas and Flora's palette provenance
Beneath blue sky and crushingly profound depths of sea
Nature witnesses humanity's demise... a failure of custodial charge
With eons of renaissance, patient Nature rises anew
And failed... we... long forgotten
Owen Patterson was born in Chicago and grew up in the South Side neighborhood of Chatham. He has a BA in Psychology from The University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, he earned minors in Native American Studies and Spanish. Owen Patterson has worked as a tutor, Special Ed paraprofessional, and behavioral health counselor. He has been writing poetry and short stories since childhood, but only in recent years has endeavored to publish his works.
