Love and Lost Chances
By Heather Sager
Giddy in the moment, you, too,
your face in a window’s radiance,
we chatted for not time enough,
words fade into warm hazy
mind pool
Your skin against my mouth,
the heat of an ecstatic sun-world,
radiant against a whole planet
of flowers inside me.
My lips held back
from the brave kiss
but I couldn’t deny the feelings
that spun like planets.
I would pick a frail flower of my self
for you.
