- Lolita Ditzler is also a member of the Wisconsin Writers Association and the Illinois Woman's Press Association, which is affiliated with the National Federation of Presswomen. Her freelance articles published by area newspapers plus national farm, police and women's magazines have won awards in the IWPA annual contests. Her essay, Life with Linda, about her special needs daughter, published by the literary and arts magazine Midwest Review and an interview with author Elizabeth Wheeler for In Print Radio earned awards in the NFPW annual contests. On Wednesdays, she posts to lolita-s-bigtoe.com, her blog for older women. Lolita, the matriarch of a police family, is a lifelong resident of the rural Durand Community, a two-hour drive on I-90 northwest of Chicago.
