- Author of "Tables Turned on Them- Jews Guarding Nazi POWs in the United States". New World War II history revealed by Dr. Michael J. Greenberg. Greenberg is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a PhD in Chemistry. He worked for over 36 years in the food industry as a scientist at Quaker Oats, and R&D Director/ Technology Fellow at the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. As a scientist, he is an inventor on over sixty US Patents, numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, chapters in technical books, and made numerous scientific presentations at international conferences. In 2007, he was given the highest honor that can be bestowed on a scientist at Wrigley, the “Innovation Special Recognition Award” for 26 years of dedication and scientific contributions to the company. He retired from the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company in 2012 and started a business called Imagetripping LLC, which includes technical consulting for the food industry, book publication and promotion, and a web based travel photography business with a website at www.imagetripping.com. Numerous images of his have been seen in various publications such as the Jewish Daily Forward, Forbes Magazine, and the Chicago Tribune North Editions. Greenberg has been deeply engaged with Congregation Beth Shalom (CBS) and the greater Chicago area Jewish Community for over 30 years. He was the CBS Men’s Club Man of the Year in 2001, and received their coveted Kavod Award for community service in 2010. Since 2006, he has been active in the Midwest Region Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs and served as their President for 2013-2015. He has been married for 36 years to his lovely wife, Judi and they live in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Greenberg leveraged his network and scientific research skills to obtain and substantiate GI stories for his 2019 book entitled "Tables Turned on Them-GIs Guarding Nazi POWs in the United States". His company, Imagetripping LLC intends to donate at least thirty-three percent of net profits from “Tables Turned on Them” sales to organizations that benefit veterans, and/or fight racial, religious and ethnic prejudice.
