- About the Author: Before becoming an author, I lived all over the United States. I’ve been a restaurant worker (9-5 cook, 4-star server, manager etc.), a grant writer for a domestic violence shelter, a bike messenger, a legal assistant for a city attorney, a housewife, a Christmas tree farm harvester, a junkie, and a lead in a play. I have been wealthy, homeless, young, a published poet, and middle-aged. People ask me, “What do you want to achieve as an author?” My answer is clear: “To honor my purpose by my writing, my life-style choices, and the time I spend sharing with others who are afflicted with addiction to inspire hope by sharing my journey to recovery.
