- Bonnie Ella Harrington was born in Chicago's Mt. Sinai Hospital in 1947. Her early childhood was split between a flat in Chicago’s Pilsen Bohemian/Polish neighborhood and a tiny cottage in La Grange, IL. She is a graduate of Nazareth Academy and the Catholic Parochial School System. She worked as an Executive Secretary for a Southside Chicago tool jobber, married a U.S. Navy Petty Officer she met at the USO, had a son Brian and lived in Florida, Alaska and Japan with them. Her first book, "Don’t Lift Up Your Hood and Cuss", pays homage to the unique people, pets and travels that have shaped her life. She lives in Palatine, IL with her husband Pat, a Shih Tzu mix named Sophie and an African Grey parrot named Noah.
