  • Della Leavitt is revising a historical novel spanning two generations of two intertwined Russian Jewish immigrant families who settled on Chicago's west side with a focus on the women's struggles to control childbearing. Della is grateful for 2021 support for this work from the Newberry Library and the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). Since 2019, she serves as Secretary to the long-running, Chicago area, Off Campus Writers' Workshop.
