  • As an interior designer and speaker on the design circuit from topics that range from, “So this is your house?” to “I am a Russian Interior Designer – Rip It Out,” this book is my first. I have written articles for “The Daily Herald,” “Chicago Home Magazine” and my own blog posts at www.designsbymaida.com. Design remains ever present in my life, and yet the foibles and follies of the last three decades spent changing client’s environments has given me enough hysteria and serenity to tell the story of two worlds colliding. With a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction, setting out each day to tackle problems with either brick and mortar or words is a life pattern of personal exhilaration.
