  • Krista August holds degrees in mathematics and education from Northwestern and DePaul universities, respectively, and since 2006 she has studied art locally at the Palette and Chisel Academy. In 2011, Giants in the Park was named Book of the Year by the Chicago Writers Association, and in 2014, the Illinois State Historical Society awarded Krista with a Certificate of Excellence for her work. Presently, Krista continues to promote interest in local monuments through book and art sales, slide show presentations, and walking and biking tours.
