- Through my interactions with homeless people, I have been inspired to write both fiction and nonfiction works. I have published a collection of short nonfiction narratives on my website jonnieguernsey.com entitled Homeless MKE. Wanting to explore what might happen if themes of homelessness, estrangement, and graffiti brought two characters of completely different ages, races, and backgrounds, I wrote my first novel, Tagged. My work in progress is Andre, the story of a teen who becomes homeless after a traumatic event, and remains driven achieve his goals.
