- Megan is a writer living in DeKalb, Illinois. In June 2022, she published her first novel, Guardians of the Keys, with Warren Publishing based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This magical realism novel received a five-star rating and review from Reader’s Favorite as well as high ratings on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com Her creative nonfiction and short stories have been published in literary magazines and online journals such as The Raven’s Perch, Foliate Oak, Euphemism, and Life in 10 Minutes (some under her maiden name of Megan Hoelscher). Her poem “Molecules of Love” is in the poetry anthology Pivot & Pause edited by Azure Antoinette with an introduction by Elizabeth Gilbert. She spent nearly twenty wonderful years as a high school English teacher in Belleville, Illinois, and has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Illinois State University and a Master’s in Applied Linguistics from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
