- Pat Mullarkey
- Pat Mullarkey is a retired newspaper editor living in Spain. Her novel "Leashes" draws on her personal experiences as a child on a leash and as a witness to dog poisonings in Portland, Ore. This story is set in Uptown, where she grew up in Chicago. Her short story, “I Have Been a Stranger in a Strange Land’ Exodus 2:22,” won first prize for 2021 Stories of Migration, Sense of Home and Place. It was published in Dreamers Creative Writing magazine #8.
