- I am author of a memoir, The Fun Master: A Father's Journey of Love, Loss, and Learning to Live One Day at a Time (SparkPress, 2022), which as named a Finalist for the Best Book Award. Recent essays have appeared in the Compassionate Friends Magazine, Adoptive Families Magazine, Brevity Nonfiction Blog, Hippocampus, The Good Men Project, The Write Launch, Pulse Magazine, and The CMTA Report. I teach at Loyola University and serve as secretary of the adjunct faculty union (RAFO) at Roosevelt University, where I won the Willet Award for teaching in the humanities in 2018. Currently, I am completing a nonfiction work on happiness and the spiritual life.
