- Born in the south. Raised by my mother in Chicago. Move the western suburbs. Graduated from Saint Joseph High School. Went to the University of California, at Berkeley. Played football, rugby and got two degrees in English and Mass Communications. Taught in Los Angeles, Emeryville and Oakland as a junior college, high school and middle school English teacher before stepping out and writing my first novel: Teddy Dee in the World of Shadows.
