8/26/2017 - 6th Annual Writers Block Party
Dan Blank (We Grow Media)
Social media and blogging offer a world of possibilities for writers who are trying to get their work noticed. But the technologies are changing so fast that it’s hard to keep up and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by it all. It can be intimidating just trying to figure out where to start. Social media expert Dan Blank (We Grow Media) will help sort out the best platforms and how to make them work for you during a special video broadcast at 1 pm Saturday, August 26, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin, Ill.
The feature event of the 6th Annual Writers Block Party will be followed by a panel discussion, “Brand-Aid: Blogging and Social Media for Writers.” The talk, moderated by author Dan Burns, will feature a diverse mix of social media and blogging veterans: Jennifer Banks-Brown, Marcie Hill, Becky Sarwate, Mary Lamphere, and Charlie Monte Verde.
Following the discussion there will be an opportunity for attendees to mingle with our social networkers during a Writers Block Party. Light snacks and soft drinks will be served. This free event is co-sponsored by the Chicago Writers Association and its Rockford affiliate, In Print.
The Gail Borden Public Library provides library meeting space as a community service. The library neither sponsors nor endorses this event nor the presenting individual(s) or organization(s).
