Robert Girardi earned his M.A. in Public History at Loyola University of Chicago. He is a past president of the Chicago Civil War Round Table and the author of ten Civil War books and numerous articles and essays. He is on the advisory board of the Illinois State Historical Society and is on the editorial review board of the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society, for which he edited the Spring 2011, Civil War Sesquicentennial Issue. He lectures on all aspects of the Civil War and has appeared on televison, radio and in the newspapers discussing the war. He is the 2010 recipient of the Chicago Civil War Round Tables Nevins-Freeman Award for scholarship and service.
I am a Civil War author, historian and speaker. For more than thirty years I have travelled to Civil War battlefields and related historic sites to conduct research and to explore and study. I have lectured widely on a variety of topics to schools at all levels, historical societies, libraries, and various Civil War round table groups, both locally as well as across the country. |
