Christine Sneed is a graduate of the MFA creative writing program at Indiana University and has published stories in Best American Short Stories 2008, New England Review, Massachusetts Review, Meridian, Other Voices, Greensboro Review, River Styx, Phoebe, South Dakota Review, and many other journals.
Her short story collection, _Portraits of a Few of the People I've Made Cry_, won the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, 2009 Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Awards Series, and will be published by the University of Massachusetts Press in Spring 2011.
She has been awarded an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in poetry and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize for both fiction and poetry. She lives in Evanston, IL and teaches creative writing and literature courses full-time at DePaul University in Chicago, where she has been on the faculty since the fall of 2003.
Stories are forthcoming from Glimmer Train, Twelve + Twelve; New England Review, Interview with the Second Wife; New Ohio Review, Five Rooms; and South Dakota Review, For Once in Your Life.
Fiction and poetry. I'm currently working on a novel and a story collection. I also contribute on a volunteer basis to The Gildagram, the quarterly newsletter for Gilda's Club Chicago, a community for people living with cancer. |
